Walters Wedding-One Year Anniversary

It’s so hard to believe that Britney and Molly have been married a year!! When I first met up with them to talk about their wedding, they weren’t even sure if it would be on the day that they planned. Molly could get deployed before the big day and then, of course, the wedding would have to be moved. Luckily, their wedding day went off without a hitch and I am so glad I got to be a part of their special day. Their entire family and their friends were so genuinely happy to see them tie the knot and their reception was crazy fun! There were so many people on the dance floor and everyone was having an amazing time. I asked Britney and Molly to share their highs, their lows and some advice for newlyweds. They even threw in how much they loved having me as their photographer. Totally unprompted but made me cry when I opened their wedding day questionnaire and read how much they appreciated having me there to photograph their big day. Take a moment to read about their first year of marriage and let’s take a look back at the day they pledged their lives to one another.

  • What has been the best thing about being married to the love of your life?
    • Molly: Coming home every day knowing that I have the one thing in the world that can instantly make me happy no matter what my day consisted of.
    • Britney: Knowing that I’ve got a partner in crime for life. Whatever adventures life holds, I’ve got the best possible person to go through them with.

  • What has been the biggest struggle during your first year of marriage?
    • Molly: I don’t really feel like we have had struggles between us, most of the struggles are outside factors like work, stress etc… sometimes that rollover I guess.
    • Britney: Splitting holidays haha. Our families are a little spread out so it’s been a challenge to coordinate everyone’s schedules and make sure we’re giving each family equal time.

  • What advice would you give to newlyweds?
    • Molly: Just love each other and treat each other like there’s no one else.
    • Britney: Treat your partner like you’re still trying to win them over 🙂 Do those sweet things that you did while you were dating so you can keep that romance and “honeymoon phase” alive!

  • What has been the greatest blessing during your first year of marriage?
    • Molly: How connected we are and how strong we are as a couple.
    • Britney: I think the biggest blessing is how well we continue to work together. We always seem to be on the same page with where we want to head in life and we work together as a team.

  • Tell me what you remember most from your wedding day.
    • Molly: Britney walking down the aisle and me starting to cry like a baby because I was so happy and she was so beautiful!
    • Britney: How happy I was after the ceremony was over! It was like all the months of planning had paid off and I could now just enjoy it all with my brand new, beautiful wife!

  • Anything else you’d like me to include in your anniversary blog?
    • Molly: Good luck to the couples getting married soon and use Liz Courtney as your photographer because she’s great.
    • Britney: But really though, feel free to put this shameless plug in your blog post because working with you was amazing! You made everything pretty effortless on our part and we felt totally confident day of that you’d capture all the beautiful moments of the day!
