2017 was a year filled with love and I absolutely love getting to photograph all of it. Last year I got to photograph amazing love stories and that all starts with proposals and engagement sessions.
First up is the Wright engagement. I met Genna at the Clarksville Bridal Fair and absolutely loved her energy. The way her and Robert love each other is so sweet. We took their engagement photos on their property and I couldn’t get enough of this dirt pit! It made their photos so special because it is a part of them. Next up is the Cahoon Proposal. John was so excited and nervous as he prepared to ask Debra to be his wife. The Crystal Gazebo at the Opryland Hotel was the perfect location to start their love story. They visit the hotel many times so adding such a special moment to a place that is so special to them just felt right to John. Debra was genuinely surprised and of course said yes! I can’t wait to see their love continue to grow. To see more from the Cahoon Proposal, check out their proposal blog here: A Crystal Gazebo Proposal
Rebecca and Jonny’s engagement session is one of my favorites! We traveled over 2 hours to the beautiful waterfalls at Rock Island State Park for their engagement session. Rebecca loves being near the water so a waterfall session was perfect! I loved getting to hang out and get to know Rebecca and Jonny and their story of finding each other. I can’t wait for their wedding this coming May. To see more from the Lee engagement, check out their engagement blog here: A Twin Falls Engagement
Mariah and Jeremy’s wedding is extra special to me. I knew Mariah in high school. We were never close but years later we got to know each other and I was thrilled to photograph their engagement session and their wedding last May. We took their engagement photos on Mariah’s parents’ property and I loved it! It was such a special place for them and I got to see how crazy they are for one another as I photographed the beginning of their beautiful love story! Megan and Chad…what an incredibly sweet couple! Megan found me on facebook and is seriously the sweetest person I have ever met! I absolutely loved getting to know her and Chad during their engagement session and their wedding this past October was absolute perfection! Taylor and Steven said I do this past May as well and their Shelby Bottoms engagement session was beautiful. Taylor and Steven were referred to me by some old photographer friends and I loved their classic style and easy going nature. They were up for anything and were so easy going in front of the camera which is very unique. Most people (myself included) get very nervous during their session but Taylor and Steven were so much fun and I loved the result of their session. Traci and Rodney have such a unique relationship. They dated in high school but grew apart. They reconnected many many years later and rekindled their relationship. Knowing that love can span such a long time and that soulmates can find each other again is such an incredible story. They truly are crazy about one another and that is something I strive to genuinely capture in all of my photos. We’re nearing the end of this blog and it’s certainly bitter sweet. I have loved getting to know all my amazing couples this past year. Kelly and Brandon got engaged at Beachaven Vineyards here un Clarksville so naturally we had to photograph their engagement at the place they got engaged. What a way to continue their love story. These two have such an incredible relationship and their style is perfect! Kelly was stunning in her yellow dress. Truthfully, I’m a little jealous by how amazing she looked in yellow. I never look good in yellow so people who can pull it off are special. They are so perfect together and I loved their wedding last year as well. Last but certainly not least is Rebecca and John Thomas. Their engagement photos are some of my favorites because it looks like we took them on a tropical island. Rebecca is a park ranger at Land Between the Lakes so of course we headed out there for their engagement photos. This lakeside beach was perfect. Land Between the Lakes has so many different locations from beach to forest and in between. I love locations that can provide incredible variety for a couple’s special photos and the added meaning of it being where Rebecca works was so special. So many love stories were started with beautiful promises and vows last year and I can’t wait to photograph more this coming year. Love is something that everyone looks for and being able to celebrate with beautiful people who have found it means so much to me. Be sure to come back next week to see the 2017 Best of Weddings blog.
