“Mark and I met in college, after a friend had tried and tried to get us to meet up, we finally ran into each other on accident on the way to the university center. We ended up eating dinner together in the food court, and spent hours talking over dinner. We became best friends, and we both tried and tried to ignore it, but we both knew something was special about us. We finally started dating after being friends for 2 years, when Mark transferred to APSU. It was tough, and we dealt with a lot in our relationship, from long distance issues, while I worked a summer in Ohio, or when I worked at camp and had no cell service, to deaths in our families. We always supported each other and respected each other. He proposed in Gatlinburg on our 3 year anniversary, and we got married the day before our 4th. We are best friends, and I am so blessed to have him in my life. Our wedding was absolutely perfect. I loved getting to see everyone during communion, and having my family and his surrounding us. It was extra special to have my grandmother there, as she was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It was so personal and fun, and totally us. I wouldn’t change a thing.”
I absolutely love Courtney and Mark’s love story! The trials they have been through have only made them stronger and I feel so blessed to have been able to be apart of their day and capture their legacy to look back on in years to come. The Smith wedding was a gathering of friends and family who were there to support the love that these two had for each other. Communion was a beautiful addition to the service in which Mark and Courtney personally served communion to their guests. I feel grateful that I’ve known Courtney for so long and that I was able to witness her marriage to Mark. After spending the day with these two it was clear that they were mad for each other and I can’t wait to see how their love blossoms.
