My new business venture with Clarksville Brides

Hi guys, 

I am so excited to officially announce on the blog my new business venture as the new owner of Clarksville Brides! This last week we just finished our January show which was a crazy and amazing whirlwind. After finishing the show I thought it’d be the perfect time to sit down and share how this came to be with you all and what the future of Clarksville Brides and Liz Courtney Photography looks like! 

I have been a member of the Clarksville Brides show for 6 years and always have loved being a part of the event! It’s an amazing place for all engaged couples to meet with vendors and truly plan their wedding in one stop. In late 2021 the previous owner sent out an email to all of the members letting us know that he would be selling the business and was looking for someone to purchase the business. I immediately knew this was my next business step to take and it made so much sense. I officially purchased Clarksville Brides in October 2021! 

For those who aren’t familiar with Clarksville Brides, we are similar to a bridal fair or wedding planning magazine rolled into one!

Our wedding showcase has traditionally taken place once a year and is a huge opportunity for couples to meet with vendors in person and really be able to plan their wedding in a day. We have a professional panel that is made up of local wedding vendors who can answer questions during the showcase. They can talk to you about anything from why you should hire a videographer to when you should send out Save the Dates. We also have an online magazine with tips and tricks to plan your wedding, featured vendors, and real wedding stories! 

We host events throughout the year, like our annual Cake Dive. A local cake artist donates a wedding cake and a jeweler donates a piece of jewelry for the winner. This past year the winner won a beautiful pearl necklace from Grand Division with the beautiful cake made by Callie Foster Dessert Design. To win you have to dig through the cake and be the first one to find a piece of costume jewelry! It’s a fun way to celebrate our engaged couples and amazing vendors we work with. 

Now to talk about the exciting changes and additions I’ll be doing with Clarksville Brides!

First off, I want to make the company truly inclusive to all engaged couples. Therefore, I will be rebranding within the year to update our name to reflect a more inclusive company! That means a new name, logo, and website, which I can’t wait to share with you all. I also will be expanding the wedding showcase to include a fall show along with our show that has always taken place in January. There are always things in the works behind the scenes but those are just a few exciting things to look forward to in 2022!

Finally, I wanted to talk about what this huge change means to Liz Courtney Photography.

I will absolutely still be photographing weddings, so don’t get worried there! However, I will be scaling back the number of weddings that I will personally be photographing each year, to leave room for my work with Clarksville Brides and my family. With this big change, I have decided it’s time to expand Liz Courtney Photography to include an associate team. I will have other trusted photographers on my team who share a very similar style of photography with me. They will be able to shoot weddings once I have personally reached my capacity, but you will still get the experience of working with me! Having associate photographers lets me still communicate with you, I’ll photograph your engagement session, and edit all of your wedding photos; I just will have one of my talented associates shooting the weddings that I won’t be able to personally attend! 

So there you have it! There are so many amazing things to come with Clarksville Brides and Liz Courtney Photography and I can’t wait to take you all along on the ride with me.
