Today I have the pleasure of blogging about Lauren and David’s wedding! This is my second wedding working with Matt and is also my first wedding as an assistant! Lauren and David’s wedding took place at the Bridge Building in Downtown Nashville and was such a beautiful sunset Jewish ceremony! It was such a beautiful ceremony and definitely something I haven’t seen before. I am so happy I got to be apart of this special day! To see more images taken by Matt the primary photographer and Anna the second shooter click this link: Matt Andrews Photography. I hope you guys enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed capturing them!

The family gathers around the bride and groom along with the Rabbi and they all accept the other into their families. So the bride gets accepted into the groom’s family and visa versa. The families also rain well wishes down on the couple. After this happens the couple, two witnesses, and the Rabbi sign the Ketupah which is the Jewish marriage contract. It was such an interesting and intimate ceremony to be apart of!

In traditional Jewish weddings there is a chair dance called the Hora. During this dance the bride and groom are lifted up on chairs and bounced by their wedding guests. This was such an amazing tradition to see and definitely something memorable about this wedding!

I had such a blast at this wedding. As the assistant I usually leave the wedding early because there is enough coverage with the primary photographer and the second shooter. Even though I left this wedding early I do not feel like I missed any of the amazing and unique Jewish traditions that were apart of this wedding. I feel so incredibly lucky to have this internship and to have been able to be apart of this wedding! I wish you many years of marital bliss Lauren and David and thank you for letting me be apart of your special day!!

Your future family heirlooms await.
