Recently I completed my most recent education class, which was The Abundance Group Team Building Intensive. It was such a great course and I wanted to share my experience and review of the class with you all!
Since expanding into ownership of Clarksville Brides, I knew that I wanted to grow my associate team with Liz Courtney Photography. Which comes with a whole learning curve of searching for the right team members, hiring, and training. That’s where The Abundance Group Team Building Intensive came in! I am a part of different professional groups online and saw this class being promoted in the Wedding Business Collective. I knew I was wanting to build my associate team, so I decided to sign up and I’m so happy I did. This course dove into the legal and financial aspects and overall the entire breakdown from start to finish of how to build and expand your team!
I always have great intentions of completing education courses on a schedule, but oftentimes life gets in the way. With The Abundance Group, the classes were online, but they were live! So once a week I knew it was time to sit down and tune into the class. Not only were they live, but the classes were interactive. You were able to ask questions and get answers in real time, unlike with pre-recorded education courses!
Personally, I purchase many of my classes when educators are doing sales so that I have a chance to do them in my slow seasons. However, with this particular course I loved being able to tune in live and ask questions directly related to my business. Because that is another huge plus of this course; it’s not just for wedding photographers! The people who run The Abundance Group are a father/daughter team, and the daughter is actually a wedding planner. They cater this Team Building Intensive to anyone in the wedding industry. There were other photographers in the course, but also videographers, wedding planners, and florists! Having the live courses meant that each person was able to ask questions that specifically related to their side of the wedding industry.
Since I’ve worked on my own for so long, I know my own process. Having to write that process out and teach it to someone else is a whole different thing! So that was a great takeaway, and I also learned the type of people I need to hire, such as subcontractor vs an employee.
My favorite part of the class was definitely being able to tune in live each week. Although I wasn’t physically in a classroom, I loved having the structure of a planned class each week with The Abundance Group. It was important for me to be able to log in and know exactly when my class was. It was a 12 week course and each week was packed with so much valuable information! For example, we had a lawyer come in one week to talk to us about contracts and what we need to include in our contracts when hiring someone.
We also received so many great resources! They gave us resources for the interview process, how to hire someone, how to fire someone if necessary, how to set expectations, how to talk with someone if they aren’t meeting expectations, and more! It really was an extremely thorough breakdown of the entire process of growing your team.
The Abundance Group does have future sessions coming up so I would encourage getting on their wait list. They do have phone calls with each person who is considering taking their course, to talk about your goals and make sure their class is a good fit for you. Which I think is great, because they truly care about helping you out and not just taking your money! I would absolutely recommend this class to anyone who is serious about expanding and growing their team! If you have any specific questions about my experience with the course, feel free to reach out to me!
