Celebrate all of your milestones with professional photos

Hi guys, 

Today I need to tell you something; you do not need a wedding or a black tie event to have professional photos taken! There are naturally large milestones in our lives where professional photographs tend to be a given. Graduating high school, getting engaged, getting married, having a baby, etc. While I absolutely love taking photos for those large milestones in life, it’s fun to have updated and professional photos for those in between moments and milestones! So today I wanted to talk about a few “smaller” milestones in life that could be cause for booking a professional photography session.

1. 1 year anniversary

So I think this one applies to a few things! It could be your 1 year wedding anniversary or your 1 year anniversary of dating! Either way, it would be a fun way to get some super cute photos to update your profile pic or photos on your desk at work. 

If it was your 1 year wedding anniversary, you could go back to the spot that you got engaged or married at and get updated photos! Or you could showcase anything that happened during your first year of marriage. Did you guys start a bowling league together? Start cooking together once a week? We could take photos of you two doing something that reminds you of your first year of marriage. Whatever you decide to do, reaching the 1st wedding anniversary is totally cause to celebrate and get new photos! 

On the flip side, if it’s your 1 year anniversary of dating, this may be your first time (of many hopefully) to have professional photos taken together! You guys could make this session totally feel like “you”. Was your first date at a winery or brewery? Let’s head there for some cute photos! Do you guys love going on hikes together? Let’s head to your favorite trail to celebrate your new relationship with photos!

2. A major change

Maybe you bought a new house, adopted a puppy, or landed your dream job. All of those changes are a cause for celebration! Just like graduating high school or getting engaged. You see where I’m going here? Any major life change is totally a reason to schedule a photo session! If you and your husband bought your first home together, let’s do a cozy home session to commemorate this time. Maybe you and your boyfriend now have a furry friend that you share. Grab the leash and let’s do a couples session with the adorable third wheel! Just because we have normalized professional photos for certain life milestones and not others, doesn’t mean they aren’t as important.

3. Just because

Honestly this third reason is the best reason because it applies to anything. Why not get professional photos taken just because? You may have gotten married 10 years ago and wish you had more photos from your wedding day that you loved. Maybe you’re planning a vow renewal because you didn’t have a photographer on your wedding day. Maybe marriage is something that you and your partner have no interest in, but you want some amazing photos together. Heck, maybe you got married 6 months ago but just want some cute winter photos with your husband or wife! Whatever the reason, you deserve to have beautiful and updated photos together!
