A couple months ago I got to go to my first Looks Like Film Photographer Meet-up! I never get off work in time for these so when one took place after work I jumped at the idea to go meet and shoot with some amazing photographers! I had so much fun at the meet-up and can’t wait to do more whenever I can. I photographed four different couples and love how all of the images came out. The idea behind these meet-ups is for us to meet, hang out and practice. During the course of us photographing we all float around. We spend about 30 minutes with a set of models and then move on to the next.
This first one was really fun but also a challenge. I’ve never photographed people in smoke bombs before. It was difficult to get the models in focus with all the smoke and editing these was SUPER hard. Which is why they are black and white. I need to play around with smoke bombs a little more so I can practice editing out the color that gets cast onto their skin. I had a great time practicing this though and love how they turned out!
This next set is SO fun! Lara is a fellow photographer but chose to model with her boyfriend Chase for a few of us other photographers. They are so cute together and her laugh is seriously infectious! I love how simple and calm these photos are. The rustic laid back nature of their bare feet and the pile of wood is my favorite part!
An actually engaged couple!! Emily and Eric was so so cute and such troopers! You could feel the chemistry between the two of them and hearing Emily talk about Eric made my heart melt! I’m so glad I got to meet this sweet couple and photograph them and can’t wait to see photos from her big day next year.
This next couple was clearly my favorite since I have so many of the two of them but I couldn’t help myself. Brayli and Mike were so relaxed and easy to work with. Their obviously chemistry was palpable and it was easy to pose them into fun, cuddly poses that they quickly made their own. We also connected over the fact that we’re both from Clarksville! I can’t remember their story exactly but the gist of it is that they are middle school sweethearts! How cute is that!? The way Mike looked at her made my heart melt and I’m so glad i got to meet them and photograph such an amazing love connection. I could photograph this amazing couple all day long! Huge thanks to Homestead Manor for letting us come out and photograph at such a beautiful venue!
If you’d like to schedule your own session please contact me as soon as possible. I have limited availability for the rest of the year but am currently booking 2017 sessions and brides as well. I can’t wait to photograph your unique love story!
