I’m so incredibly excited to share these photos today! On July 24th, 2016 I got to photograph my oldest friend get married to the love of his life. It was such a sweet and simple day. The ceremony was intimate with mostly family and a few friends in attendance. Joseph and Leah had decorated the room in bright yellow and navy blue since Leah’s favorite flowers are sunflowers. It was a scorcher that day but with the weeks previous being filled with rain we were all worried it was going to rain. I arrived at Events on Main to a beautiful bright blue sky and not a rain cloud in sight. I might be a little biased on this one but it was a gorgeous day for a wedding! But don’t take my word for it. I asked Joseph and Leah to tell me a little about how they felt on their BIG day!
Leah: Joseph and I first met while he was working at the Exxon gas station. I thought he was the most handsome man, I’d ever seen.
Joseph: We met at a gas station I worked at. We got to talking and I realized she was pretty cool. I’ve seen her every day since.
Leah: We were at his aunt and uncles family home sitting on the front porch. He dropped to his knee and asked the best question I have EVER answered.
Joseph: I proposed while at my aunt and uncle’s while we were there for dinner.
Leah: I was overflowing with all kinds of emotions the morning of the wedding. The day was finally here, I was nervous, anxious, and excited all in one!
Joseph: I was anxious the morning of but after all the work and preparation, I was ready for the end.
Leah: My favorite part of the wedding was being able to bring my whole family, and my new family together. There was so much happiness and love throughout the day.
Joseph: My favorite part of the wedding was having all of my family in one place at the same time. And I was ready to legally give my name to Leah.
And finally my favorite question to ask all my newlyweds….
Leah: I’m most excited to keep discovering Joseph as a person, and learning to love him even more than I do now.
Joseph: I’m excited to grow more in love and maturity together so that we can be a strong couple.
I love hearing about a couple’s wedding day from their perspective! I can view a wedding day through my lens and see all the emotions that make an outward appearance but I think it is so special to hear about a couple’s big day from them. No one can know exactly how they feel on one of the biggest days of their lives. On this day all the stress and work seems worth it and you realize that you get to spend the rest of your life with this one person who loved you enough to either say “Will you marry me?” or “Yes!” Congratulations Joseph and Leah! I love you both and I can’t wait to see where your love takes you!
