“I remember the first time we met like it was yesterday, there Jo stood in an all blue Harlem Globetrotter outfit, looking super fly!!! It was the Chute nightclub and the night was young, fun, and I did not know I was going to meet someone that would change my life forever. She was too shy to ask me my name or to dance so she had her friend ask me. So later on in the night she finally came up and asked me to dance and it was a Beyoncé song (Baby Boy ft. Sean Paul). I think she was in awe because of my dance moves.. I knew after the first kiss, she was the one. I knew I was in love because she made me feel so comfortable, I was able to be myself, and she respected my feelings. So in 2007 we had our first commitment ceremony  and then in 2016 The United States finally legalized same-sex marriage. So we turned and looked at one another and said lets get married!! I know people say there is no such thing as a perfect marriage or relationship but ours is close to perfect harmony.”

I love how Tiffany describes how she met Jo! It is so sweet that they knew right away that they were meant to be together. They have been together for 13 years and are still blissfully happy together. It was amazing seeing their love story unfold on their wedding day. When I asked Tiffany about planning their wedding she had this to say:

“So after we set our date to (November 21st, 2015) we started planning for the wedding. We met with our wedding planner (Alisa) and she made everything so easy for us. Now when it came to choosing the colors that was easy. We chose lavender and off white. The lavender was in memory of her late mother, Emma Odems. The off white was a representation of Jesus’ love and pureness. OMG, shopping time for our wedding gear was a blast! I chose David`s Bridal and the ladies were so kind and patient. Ms. Gwen was the lady that made my experience wonderful. Jo chose Men’s Warehouse and they too were helpful. Brittany was the lady that assisted her and she too made it easy for Jo. I have to say both businesses were non-judgmental and they treated us both with respect.”

It is so great to see businesses helping clients no matter their preference to find the wedding attire that will make their day perfect. I had such a blast photographing their wedding. They were kind and funny and really made me feel at home and a part of their wedding even though I was just photographing it. I have to say that though their ceremony was short it was full of laughter and fun. They even had me tearing up when Jo spontaneously chose to sing the song she wrote and recorded for Tiffany as she walked down the aisle. It was beautiful to see her singing so freely and passionately to the woman she loves.  Check out the photos below for the sweetest wedding photos!
