A Port Royal Maternity Session-Shawn and Cristin

There’s nothing better than having your couples come back to you to capture milestones in their lives. I photographed Shawn and Cristin’s big day last May and we instantly hit it off. Cristin has such a bubbly and fun personality, it’s hard not to smile and laugh when you’re around her. I remember Cristin telling me shortly after their wedding day that I was stuck with them; that they’d be using me for other photos. Nothing makes me happier than being there to capture these memories.

Baby Brynlynn

Shawn and Cristin are expecting their first child, a little girl, on June 6th. That’s less than 3 weeks after celebrating their first wedding anniversary! Little Brynlynn is already so loved by so many and it’s clear to see that Shawn is already enthralled with his little girl. I can’t wait to see these two grow not only in love but also into incredible parents.

Port Royal Maternity

We, of course, had to take their maternity photos at Port Royal. It’s one of my favorite places and Shawn loves it there as well. We had to reschedule their session once for the rain but this past Tuesday dawned sunny and warm. It was the perfect spring day to celebrate a new life about to come into the world. We spent their session talking about life, their baby shower, and their little girl. Shawn was a little nervous and took some time to warm up to photos again but I think we captured some beautiful photos to commemorate such a special time in their lives. One of my favorite parts of their session was when I asked Shawn to try and get Cristin to laugh. Apparently, Shawn can’t be funny on command but the fact that he couldn’t come up with something off the cuff was enough to get both Cristin and I rolling in laughter.

I’ll be honest, I was definitely tearing up a little as I edited these photos thinking about how far they’ve come in their first year of marriage. It seems such a short time has passed since their wedding day. I’m so incredibly honored to have gotten to capture this time in their lives and can’t wait to meet their sweet little girl soon.
